ASPIRE understands that reclaiming America’s youth is a LONG-TERM mission that will require a LONG-TERM commitment to establish and achieve the following:

  • Universal Pre-K
  • Close the K-12 gap
  • Universal After-school
  • Youth employment, leadership, and diversion
  • Parental support and advocacy
  • Ex-offender re-integration
  • Employment and financial health
  • Drug recovery and wellness

ASPIRE will give priority to the following programs and their mission statements:

  • Out-of-School Time ProgrammingThe Out-of-School Time (OST) Program provides a mix of academic, recreational and cultural activities for Latino youth (grades K-12) after school, during holidays and in the summer. Programs are free of charge and are located in every neighborhood across the state.
  • Service Connection - To involve Latino youth in community service, volunteerism, and leadership for projects and events by ASPIRE members, together with the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
  • Collective Advocacy – To engage advocates to positively impact funding and policy decisions that affect Latino youth by using ASPIRE’s presence and voice at upcoming budget hearings and workshops by North Carolina State and Local Agencies; use petitions as a tool for engaging and educating citizens.
